MINSK, September 24 (BelTA) – A meeting will be held in Istanbul on September 25 to celebrate the works of Yanka Kupala, BelTA learned from the Yanka Kupala State Literary Museum.
On this day, the Belarusian Friendship Park in Istanbul will host the exhibition “Yanka Kupala in Dialogue of Cultures”, celebrate the Bogach Festival and hold a public event “Read Kupala together”. “The living legacy of the great poet is not only an inseparable connection with the homeland for Belarusians abroad, but also a step for different countries and peoples to understand the history of our culture. The museum tells about the work of Yanka Kupala and continues the traditions of the poet himself, ”said representatives of the institution.
According to the organizers, the “Read Kupala Together” campaign will add Turkey to the list of countries united with Belarus by the word of Yanka Kupala. The project started in 2012 and has so far been carried out successfully in Russia, Georgia, France, Estonia, Serbia and other countries. “Visitors can also experience the folk autumn harvest festival atmosphere and enjoy the national flair while participating in an interactive program prepared by the museum,” they added.
During the visit to the Turkish capital, the management of the Yanka Kupala State Literature Museum, the Adam Mitskevich Museum and the Orhan Pamuk Museum of Innocence in Istanbul with the participation of the representatives of the Istanbul City Hall. The parties will discuss the prospects of inter-museum cooperation.
The event takes place as part of the international project “Yanka Kupala in the Dialogue of Cultures”. It will also be attended by representatives of the Belarusian diaspora, city authorities, the Istanbul public and the consular corps.
