Syria is studying Belarus’ experience of building dairy farms

MINSK, September 29 (BelTA) – Syria will examine Belarus’ best practices in building dairy farms, BelTA learned from BelInterExpo at the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI).

The “Made in Belarus” exhibition by domestic manufacturers was presented at the Rebuild SYRIA Exhibition 2021, which opened in Damascus on September 29th. The exhibition presents five companies whose products and services can be used in projects to rebuild Syria’s infrastructure and economy: MTZ, MAZ, MMZ, Elektrotechnisches Werk Brest, EAA-Spetsstroy.

In the run-up to the exhibition, the Belarusian delegation met with representatives of the Syrian economy. In particular at the meeting with the Vice-President of the Syrian Chamber of Commerce Association Labib al-Ekhwan, the parties discussed cooperation on water treatment, construction work in Syria and the delivery of agricultural equipment. The Belarusian delegation was invited to visit the city of Homs and the Hisyah industrial area, where Belarusian products could also be presented. In return, the Belarusian delegation invited the Vice-President of the Syrian Chamber of Commerce and representatives of the country’s agricultural sector to come to Belarus to study best practices in building dairy farms in Minsk Oblast.

At the meeting with the President of the Homs Chamber of Commerce, the parties agreed to hold regular business seminars alternately on the territory of the two countries. They also discussed the export of Belarusian goods and services to Syria.

The cooperation in agriculture, the Syrian agricultural export (fruit, vegetables) to Belarus, the export of Belarusian agricultural machinery to Syria, the cooperation in animal husbandry and the construction of dairy farms were discussed at a meeting in the Association of Syrian Chambers of Agriculture.

The prospects for trade cooperation between the two countries were discussed at a meeting with the President of the Damascus Chamber of Commerce, Osama Mustafa. Representatives of the regional economy took part – companies specializing in construction, textiles and clothing, food.

There was also a meeting with members of the Syrian-Belarusian Economic Council and with the Belarusian ambassador to Syria, Yuri Sluka.

The Made in Belarus exhibition of Belarusian manufacturers at Rebuild SYRIA Exhibition was organized with the support of the Belarusian Embassy in Syria.

Rebuild Syria has been taking place in the Syrian capital since 2015. In 2019, it attracted 389 companies from 31 countries and was visited by more than 40,000 people.

The Rebuild Syria has thematic sections: Construction Technologies and Materials; Finishing and decoration products; Kitchens, bathrooms, plumbing, water supply technologies; Air conditioning, heating, lighting, power generation and electrical engineering; Oil and gas; Ecology and infrastructure management; Insurance and banking; Communication systems; Information technology and software; Food and drinks.
