Foreign Minister Blinken met with the Lithuanian Foreign Minister Landsbergis

Foreign Minister Antony J. Blinken met Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis in Washington today. Democracy and Human Rights in the Transatlantic Region and Worldwide. The Foreign Minister underscored the US’s determined solidarity with our NATO ally and EU partner Lithuania in the face of geopolitical challenges for regional stability, security and economic prosperity. In view of the attempted coercion by the People’s Republic of China, the Foreign Minister reaffirmed the United States’ iron support for Lithuania. The two heads of state and government discussed efforts to help Lithuania build supply chain resilience and develop bilateral economic cooperation. The Secretary thanked Foreign Minister Landsbergis for Lithuania’s leadership in meeting the challenges posed by Belarus. The two leaders discussed our ongoing partnership in support of the Belarusian pro-democracy movement, and the secretary thanked Lithuania for facilitating the establishment of a Belarusian affairs department at the US Embassy in Vilnius.
