The House of Representatives Andrei Savinykh recently spoke at a round table at Sputnik Belarus about the prospects of the IT sector in our country, which was dedicated to the sanctions against Belarus and the way out of the economic crisis. According to the official, IT specialists and companies that will not work in the Belarusian market will be forced to leave.
According to Andrei Savinykh, the Hi-Tech Park is soon faced with the choice of geopolitical processes, namely the division of the world into macro-regions with their own economic laws and rules. Such a division, the official believes, will prevent an IT product, especially a high-tech and strategic one, from being created in one macro-region and sold in another in the future – it will be banned for security reasons.
“This means that the part of the IT sector in Belarus that works for the American market has to reorient or reliance on our market,” writes Savinykh on his website. Savin wrote on his website: “Why? Because in five years it will not be possible to work for the American market. “
According to the official, it will be the US government, not Belarus, that will ban people from working in Belarus.
“IT specialists should understand clearly: Either they find a niche here and start to work for their own industry and economy, or they pack their bags and move closer to the location of their customers and consumers,” said the MP. “It’s not a political reality, it’s an economic one.”
Belarusian IT specialists began to actively leave Belarus after the 2020 elections. Poland alone issued more than 10,000 visas to Belarusian programmers and their families from September 2020 to May 2021. Both individual specialists and entire companies are leaving the country.
