TEHERAN – A number of other foreign leaders and political figures have sent messages congratulating Iranian elected President Ebrahim Raisi.
Among those who recently congratulated Raisi are the Belarusian, Venezuelan, Cuban, Nicaraguan Presidents of the Palestinian Authority, the Lebanese Secretary General of Hezbollah, the former Iraqi Prime Minister and the President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
Raisi won the June 18 presidential election with a landslide victory, beating his three other rivals by a wide margin.
Raeisi, Mohsen Rezaei, Abdolnasser Hemmati and Amir Hossein Qazizadeh Hashemi ran in the elections.
Raeisi won 17,926,345 votes from a total of 28,933,004 ballots. However, Rezaei, Hemmati and Qazizadeh received 3,412,712 votes, 2,427,201 votes and 999,718 votes, respectively.
Erdogan hopes the poll results will lead to a more prosperous Iran
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan congratulated Raisi on Saturday for his success in the presidential elections in Iran.
According to the Turkish communications directorate’s statement, Erdogan wished the poll results would lead to a more prosperous Iran.
Erdogan hoped Turkey-Iran relations would be strengthened during Raisi’s presidency and said he was ready to work together, the Hurriyet Daily News reported.
He added that he would be happy to visit Iran for the upcoming High Level Cooperation Council meeting once the COVID-19 pandemic ends.
Qatar wishes to develop relations during Raisi’s presidency
Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani sent Raisi a message in which he “wishes him success and the continued development and growth of relations between the two countries,” the state-run news agency QNA said.
Kuwait-Emir wishes Raisi every success
Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Sabah, Kuwait’s Emir, wrote to Raisi and wished him “continued success and well-being and the friendly Islamic Republic that it continues to advance and prosper”, according to the state news agency KUNA.
Kazakh President congratulates Raisi
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has sent a congratulatory telegram to the newly elected President of Iran.
In his telegram, President Tokayev congratulated Raisi on behalf of the Kazakh people and in his own name, the Akorda press service said on Sunday.
“Your convincing election victory is clear evidence of your support for your political course and your programs to develop and strengthen your fatherland, as well as the fact that the Iranian people have a bond with you in their future. In this context, I wish the Islamic Republic of Iran and its people all the best and continued success in implementing their noble goals and initiatives, ”the telegram reads.
President Tokayev also noted that he viewed Iran as a friendly neighbor in the Caspian Sea region and one of Kazakhstan’s reliable partners in the Islamic world. In addition, the President expressed his confidence that the two countries can not only maintain the existing cooperation in a spirit of traditional friendship and mutual support, but also give it new momentum and meaning. Indian Prime Minister: I look forward to working with Raisi
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday that he looked forward to working with the Iranian President-elect to strengthen Delhi-Tehran relations.
“Congratulations to His Excellency Ebrahim Raisi on his election as President of the Islamic Republic of Iran. I look forward to working with him to further strengthen the warm relationship between India and Iran, ”Modi tweeted.
Indian President Ram Nath Kovind also congratulated Raisi, according to the ANI. “I am confident that our close and cordial bilateral relationship will continue to grow under your leadership,” Kovind tweeted.
Lukashenko: I hope you overcome hurdles
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko congratulated Raisi on Sunday’s victory in the Iranian presidential election and said he welcomed this victory also on behalf of the Belarusian people.
According to the Iranian Embassy in Mins, Lukashenko said in his message to Raisi: “I am sure that your rich leadership experience will be very supportive in this post.”
The Belarusian President added: “I hope that, with your guidance, Iran can overcome all foreign hurdles and make significant progress in economic and social development, and that friendly relations with Belarus continue to be strengthened in all areas.”
Raisi will officially take up his post as president in midsummer.
Lukashenko also wished Raisi success and also peace and prosperity for the Iranian nation.
Three Latin American presidents congratulate Raisi on the victory
In a separate message, the President of Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua congratulated Raisi and the Iranian nation on the presidential elections in Iran.
In a post on his Twitter page, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said: “I congratulate my brothers in the Islamic Republic of Iran on their impeccable implementation of the democratic process in the June 18 elections, in which Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi was elected president Iran. Through unity we will continue our efforts for peace and the strengthening of cooperation and fraternal relations between the two countries. ”
The Venezuelan Presidential Office has also announced, as President Maduro, that Caracas expresses its full support to the Iranian elected President and the revolutionary Iranian people for deepening the unity between the two countries in their struggle for justice.
Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel also sent the elected Iranian President a warm greeting via his official Twitter account and wished him every success in fulfilling his duties.
Senior Nicaraguan officials also congratulated Raisi. A message signed by Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega and his deputy Rosario María Murillo Zambrana states that Nicaragua, on behalf of the people and the government of reconciliation and national unity, sends its warmest congratulations to the Iranians on the presidential election.

In his first reaction to Raisi’s election on Sunday, Nasrallah said “Salam an Ebrahim (hello to Ebrahim)” on his Twitter page.
Hezbollah General Secretary Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah also congratulated President-elect Raisi in a message published on Sunday.
In his message, the Hezbollah leader added, “I congratulate you on winning the trust of the great Iranian nation and being elected President at this sensitive point in Iran’s history.”
He added that freedom seekers and resistance fighters “see you as a solid and strong supporter in the face of intruders”.

Ex-Prime Minister Maliki hopes Iraq-Iran relations will be strengthened to serve common interests
Nouri al-Maliki, who was Iraq’s Prime Minister from 2006 to 2014, expressed the hope that fraternal relations between Iraq and Iraq would be strengthened during the Raisi presidency in line with the common interests of the two neighboring countries.

On Sunday, the Office of the High Council for National Reconciliation in Afghanistan also congratulated Raisi on winning the presidential election and called for closer ties between Afghanistan and Iran.
