Comprehensive Belarus-Russian cooperation agenda discussed by high-level group



MOSCOW, August 10 (BelTA) – On August 9, a video conference of the High-Level Group of the Council of Ministers of the Union State of Belarus and Russia was held. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia, Vladimir Semashko, chaired the meeting, the press service of the embassy BelTA said.

Participants in the meeting discussed various issues of Belarus-Russian cooperation, including the conditions of sale of Belarusian elevators, access of radio-electronic products to state (municipal) procurement contracts in Russia, the creation of a joint system for determining the degree of localization of automobiles and Belarusian special vehicles and machinery and Russian makes lifting restrictions on shipping of granite macadam. The pages also discussed a number of new topics and opportunities for cooperation, in particular the procedure for the recognition of digital signatures in digital documents and the enforcement of digital documents in the cross-border exchange of information within the framework of the Union state of Belarus and Russia. The sides also talked about Belarusian-Russian cooperation in microelectronics and the conditions for using Belarusian-made electronic components in Russia. The mutual recognition of COVID-19 vaccination documents in the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation was also discussed.

The sides also agreed to end the pilot operation of communication channels with reduced roaming tariffs. From September 1, 2021, roaming mobile phone users in Belarus and Russia will be offered permanent, comfortable roaming tariffs.
