Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi (R) will meet with Mongolian Deputy Prime Minister Sainbuyan Amarsaikhan on September 16, 2021 in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.

DUSHANBE, Sept. 17 (BelTA – Xinhua) – Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Mongolian Deputy Prime Minister Sainbuyan Amarsaikhan here in the capital of Tajikistan on Thursday, with both sides pledging to promote bilateral cooperation.

Wang said that China and Mongolia are friendly neighbors, linked by mountains and rivers, and that the development of bilateral relations is maintaining good momentum.

China has always had a good neighborhood policy and is ready to continue helping Mongolia develop its economy and improve people’s well-being, Wang said.

He noted that both sides should continue to respect the independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, core interests and concerns of the other and give political guarantees for the stable and healthy development of bilateral relations.

China will strongly support Mongolia’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, steadily promote bilateral cooperation on large-scale projects and create further growth points for cooperation, Wang said, adding that China will help Mongolia strengthen its cooperation with Shanghai Cooperation Organization supports.

For his part, Amarsaikhan said China was Mongolia’s good neighbor and partner.

With China’s help, Mongolia is gradually emerging from the worst in fighting the pandemic, Amarsaikhan said, expressing his sincere thanks to China for supporting Mongolia’s fight against the pandemic, particularly providing high quality vaccines.

Amarsaikhan added that Mongolia strongly supported China in safeguarding its core interests, upholding mutual respect for each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and attaching great importance to strengthening economic, trade, education and humanities cooperation with China.

He also hoped that the two sides will strengthen high-level exchanges, raise the level of bilateral cooperation and further strengthen friendship between the peoples of the two countries.
