MOSCOW, September 14 (BelTA) – Belarusian MPs will join the delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarusian-Russian Union State to hold the Russian State Duma elections on the 17th.
“Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly will take part in observing parliamentary elections in the Russian Federation as part of the CIS observation mission. The delegation will be led by the chairman of the Commission on International Affairs and National Security of the Council of the Republic, the chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly Commission on Foreign Policy Sergei Rakhkov, ”said the press service.
The delegation also includes Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee on International Affairs of the House of Representatives Oleg Gaidukevich, Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee on Legislation of the House of Representatives Aleksandr Omelyanyuk, Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee on International Affairs of the House of Representatives Olga Petrashova and member of the Standing Committee for Economy, Budget and Finance of the Council of the Republic Andrei Shishkin.
“The MPs of the Parliamentary Assembly will visit polling stations in Moscow, where they will be asked to observe the votes. They will also hold meetings with the leadership of political party factions in the State Duma and with representatives of the Central Electoral Commission of Russia. They are also planning a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to the Russian Federation, Vladimir Semashko, ”said the press service.
“Sergei Rachkov, the coordinator of the Parliamentary Assembly delegation, will attend a meeting of the coordinators of the CIS observation mission to prepare a final election observation document, which will be held on September 20,” added the press service.
