MINSK, June 30 (BelTA) – As of June 1, 2021, Belarus’ external debt amounted to 18.1 billion.
From January to May 2021, the Belarusian government raised the equivalent of 194.1 million US dollars, of which 123.2 million US dollars from the Russian government, 55.3 million US dollars from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) , $ 13.7 million from the Export-Import Bank of China and $ 1.9 million from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Nordic Investment Bank (NIB).
From January to May 2021, Belarus gave 700.5 million to the IBRD, $ 3.2 million to the EBRD and NIB, and $ 0.7 million to the US Commodity Credit Corporation.
As of June 1, 2021 Belarus’ national debt amounted to Br 57.4 billion. Br. 0.4 billion or 0.7% less than at the beginning of the year.
Internal government debt amounted to Br 11.5 billion as of June 1. Taking into account exchange rate differences, internal national debt has increased by Br 1.7 billion or 16.8% since the beginning of the year.
From January to May 2021, the Belarusian government sold domestic government bonds denominated in foreign currencies and the Belarusian ruble worth 729 million US dollars and 137 million Br. To individuals and companies and redeemed government bonds worth 23 million US dollars and 92, 2 million Br from businesses and individuals.
